Ferrari’s biggest gain may not be peak speed, but the calmer platform underneath it
Ferrari’s most encouraging signal so far may have nothing to do with a headline lap time. What stands out more is the sense of a calmer, more predictable car underneath the drivers, one that appears less eager to sabotage a weekend with sudden instability.
That kind of gain rarely dominates the conversation, but it can be the difference between being occasionally fast and repeatedly threatening. When drivers trust the platform beneath them, strategy becomes cleaner, tyre management becomes less reactive and the entire rhythm of the weekend improves.
Ferrari has spent too much time in recent seasons chasing speed while managing chaos. If the team has genuinely traded a little drama for a little control, it may have made the smarter bargain.
